I want to present my Abandoned Gas Station Project. For those who know me, this has been a colossal undertaking that has taken a while to complete. It was touch-and-go whether it would ever see the light of day, but it feels good to get it across the finish line finally. I wanted to push my art toward capturing my style when I started this project. I wanted to improve my rendering, storytelling, and composition and, most importantly, embrace my love of robots and Sci-Fi.
In reality, this turned into a long project, and I used it as a test bed to improve my skills and learn new workflows from Foliage to Unreal 5. Along the way, I have done many other personal and professional projects, which meant this always took a back seat. However, I finally got time to focus on finishing it off.
It started based on this initial concept piece.

And grew from there. I wanted this to be semi-stylised, focusing less on completely photoreal props and more on the artistry of creating assets with sculpting and texturing. I aimed for readable and not too noisy. All my favourite video games inspired it.
Overall, I am thrilled to have this project completed finally. I have learnt a lot over the time of chipping away at it, and in many ways, it has allowed me to grow into the artist I am today. I can finally rest and move on to something different, which is a great feeling. If you want to see more of the project, I wrote several blog posts on my Artstation so that you can check out my process.

If there is enough interest, I always wanted to do an environment-based tutorial capturing a lot of my learnings, but it might be time to move on to something new.

Thank you for checking out my work, and I hope you like it.
Also, I used a fair amount of resources in this project, so I will add them as I remember them.
1. Ultra Dynamic Sky - used for TOD and the Weather effects
2. Easy Fog - For the fog cards in the background
