I worked on Suicide Squad as an Advanced Environment Artist while at Rocksteady. As part of my responsibilities, I specialised in materials; all of the material work in these screenshots was created by myself for the game. I was responsible for setting up and managing the material library throughout production, working on tools and pipelines for materials inside Substance and Unreal. I also worked and provided feedback on shaders for blending materials and improving the overall material quality in the game. Some of the set dressing in the shots were created by the talented environment team at Rocksteady.

For the game, we mainly used 2-blend and 3-blend masked blending; for a lot of the material work, we would create a clean version of the material used on most of the building with grunge maps and decals. The damage variation would spawn less on edges and crevices to add nice detail overall.
